Job Specification for Commercial Engineer
We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Engineer, key requirements will include: –
ESSENTIAL
I.T. Literate – Will be working with Microsoft Excel & Word initially, but may be required to work with dedicated planning software in the future
Sheet Metal Knowledge/Experience – have had at least 1-2 years working in a sheet metal environment
Contract Review – Review all incoming purchase orders/contracts to specified criteria and ensure correctness of information, preparation and control of information on route cards. Be able to read engineering drawings and work from samples, and liaising with clients and suppliers where necessary.
PREFERRED
Quotations – Review, process, prepare and submit Quotations to customers.
CAD/CAM Literate – experience working with any of the following software, Radan, TruTops, Solidworks.Training would also be offered to the successful candidate
Customer / Supplier Liaison – To act as a first point of call and visit if necessary Customers, Suppliers and Sub Contractors.
Quality – have experience of Quality control processes in line with BSI
Purchasing – Review and manage all company resource and inventory requirements both production and non-production and ensure goods are ordered in a cost effective and efficient way to ensure the smooth functioning of the company. Also Develop supplier relationships, maintain supplier files and evaluate supplier performance.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks and assist in general clerical and administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the Commercial Department as necessitated by your changing role and the overall business objectives.
This could also suit a Design / CAD/CAM Engineer looking to move into a commercial role.
Salary/Hourly rate dependent upon experience.
